Astro Girl's Website - Coming Soon!
My entire website is finally overgoing a much-needed overhaul.
I responded to the overwhelming amount of email telling me to fix my site (okay, okay, so three emails isn't exactly overwhelming. Sue me.) Actually, my website was starting to piss me off, with all the links that didn't work, the pictures that refused to appear, and the fact that the website only looked good if you had a good monitor set on 1280 by 1024.
Over winter break, I started making the new site, and I have to say that it is going to look really cool. I decided to publish the entire site when it is finished, so in all likelyhood, this page will remain here for a few months. I would have it finished sooner, because my teachers seem to have a personal vendetta angainst students with time-consuming hobbies.
Therefore, since "on my own time" I have to do work for everybody else...well, don't hold your breath waiting for my site to be finished.
Unless you're either one of my slave drivers (a.k.a. teachers) or people for whom breathmint was invented, in which case please do.

Some big changes you will see...
The sidebar with all the links in it is, well, no longer a sidebar. I have decided to place all the links in a frame at the top of the page, to make it easier to read and not take up so much room. I have also eliminated that stupid background graphic of the earth that's colors wouldn't come out right.
For the Messier Objects main pages, I will have several ways in which to browse the catalogue, including by Object Type, by Constellation, as well as the entire list using both picture thumbnails and, for those with slower internet connections, a text-only list. I will also include a data table of the Messier Objects if looking for specific information.
For the individual Messier Object pages, I have found so many pictures of each object that it would take way too long to put each and every picture on the same page. It would also take too long for me to create a separate page for each picture (hey, I DO have a life, contrary to popular opinion.) However, I want to make every picture that I have available to those browsing my site. So I will create a separate website that will just hold the pictures, and maybe an index of them so fortunecity.com doesn't get mad that I'm just using the space for storage. Then on the page for each object on my site, I will have thumbnail images for people to link to the full-sized ones.
I have also found a lot of videos that I would like to include in my site, but then I wouldn't have room for anything else. So I've decided to do the same thing with videos that I'm gonna do with the Messier Object pictures - make a different site, put the videos there, and have people link to them. This way I don't run out of room.
The other sections of my website are just gonna have to wait on the back burner while I get the Messier Object pages up and running.
I will also incude a couple of free goodies on my site, like a hit counter, a guestbook, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

If you have any suggestions to make, insults to offer, or just want to waste my time reading email, then email me at astrogrrl@space.com.
Sorry, the link isn't working now, so just select the text, copy it, and then paste it into the space where you type the email address of whoever you're sending your email to.
P.S. Hi Douggie, Kristin, Ryan, Mo, Sandhya, "Ewic" , Pat, Kate, Andrew, and anyone else that I know will see this site.
